Nexova Dev LLC ("we", "us", "our") built Nexova Captions ("the App") as a paid subscription application. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices. By using the App you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we process
- Video and audio content. When you create captions, the audio track of your video is uploaded to our server to generate a transcript with timing. The upload is temporary and used only to produce the captions you requested.
- Device identifier. We use a stable installation identifier (the iOS vendor identifier) to enforce fair usage limits and to attribute your subscription benefits.
- Subscription status. Whether you are on the free tier or a paid subscriber is sent with each captioning request so we can apply the correct limits. Payment information is processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store and is never accessible to us.
2. How we process your content
Audio submitted for captioning is transmitted securely over HTTPS to our server and forwarded to a third-party speech recognition provider (currently Mistral AI, with automatic fallback to OpenAI or Groq if the primary provider is unavailable). The transcript is returned to your device; we do not store your videos, audio files, or transcripts on our servers after the request is complete.
3. Third-party services
Our captioning pipeline relies on hosted AI services:
- Mistral AI — speech recognition (primary)
- OpenAI — speech recognition (fallback)
- Groq — speech recognition (fallback)
4. Storage and retention
We do not store your videos, audio files, or transcripts on our servers. Captions, video projects, and settings live locally on your device only. If you delete the App, all locally stored projects are removed.
5. Analytics and advertising
The App does not contain third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not sell or share your personal information with anyone for advertising purposes.
6. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Security
All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Access to server infrastructure is restricted and protected.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page with the effective date shown above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
